Taiwan Day 2
I just saw the dorm assignment for Korea and there are students from France, Hongkong, Malaysia...., all over the world!!! I didn't expect so many people to participate in this exchange! Im really excited!
Hahaha ok back to day 2. We shifted out of our miserable hotel at Guting, to Ximending! Stayed at Ximen hotel. It was really convenient and clean. :) The tentative plan that day was to go up to Yangmingshan -> beitou (hot spring) -> Danshui (fisherman's wharf + danshui old street market) -> Shihlin market. But we only managed to visit 2/4 of the places because of our poor chinese. Sigh. We couldn't understand the ppl and the signages! Ended up walking rounds and rounds just to find the correct bus stop that will bring us up to Yangmingshan. Took us about 2 hours just to find the bus stop! Totally killed the mood and we only reached YMS at about 2pm? :/ Traveling was a pain. We didn't wanna join a tour group because we didn't want to visit the temples and have a time limit to our sight seeing/ shopping. Soooo yep, didn't have time to go to the hot springs and Shihlin market.
Took the train up to Danshui after YMS. Danshui's scenery was SOOOOO BREATHTAKING! The lover's bridge (fisherman's wharf) was a tad too crowded but we still managed to take photos. :) Took a ferry back to danshui old street market to shop and eat after that. We were so tired by the time we ended so we took the MRT back to hotel to rest a bit, before heading down to Ximending to explore. :)
Must try food at danshui old street market: Ah Po Tie Dan, Fish crackers, frozen egg tart

How to get to fisherman's wharf: Stop at danshui station (red line) and take bus red 5.
